Christmas Message

Christmas Message -
Christmas is a time of joy and celebration and there are any number of songs beautifully depicting the festive mood of this great feast. One of the very familiar Christmas carols begins like this, “Joy to the world, the Lord is come. Let the Earth receive her King”.
At this time all over the world there is this festive mood. All are in celebration. The Stars, the crib, the tree, the Santa, these are only some of the ingredients of this season of joy.
There is a danger in this celebration. There is a possibility that we will forget the most essential aspect of Christmas. In a commercialized, busy world where celebration for the sake of celebration is becoming more and more the style of the day, Christmas also can become a celebration for the sake of celebration.
The core of Christmas is Christ, Christ who came to bring peace and joy and love into this world. Some times Santa Clause is the heart of Christmas and not the Christ. The most important thought at the Christmas time is that Christ is the centre of this feast. We are celebrating the birth of Christ. And even in the midst of songs, decorations and gifts let is not forget the core of all that, the birth of Jesus.
And Christ represents the dream of a new world, a world of peace and love and forgiveness. And this troubled world really needs Christmas and the coming of Christ. This world needs love, peace and reconciliation.
My wish at this Christmas time is that we will allow Christ to be born in our hearts an we will take a little step in our lives to build a world, a world of peace and love that Jesus dreamed.
Let me wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
