KCYM Archdioceses of Verapoly protested against the repeated Alcoholic Tragedies in the Kerala State. The Protest Charna was inaugurated by Mr. Deepak Cherkott, KCYM State President. Mr. I M Antony presided the meeting. State Director Fr. Jaison Kollannoor, Mr. Shine Antony, Adv. Sherry J Thomas, Socio-Political Forum Convenor Mr. Sijoy Antony, Adv. Jerome Valluvassery, Adv. Justin Karipatt, Mr. Shaji George, Sr. Ancy Antony UMI addressed the gathering.
KCYM Archdiocese of Verapoly demanded the resignation of the Kerala Excise Minister, P K Gurudasan, on moral grounds failing which the Chief Minister, V S Achuthanandan, should sack him from the ministry and also demanded the revamping and strengthening of Excise Department.
