Discussion - "Community Gathering - 'Needs and Wants'"

A discussion session was organised at 6.30 pm on 12th Jan 2011 at Youth Centre, IS Press Road, Cochin - 682 018 on the topic "Community Gathering - 'Needs and Wants'" Adv. Jejo K S, State Senator and Auditor to the State Senate KCYM moderated session. Mr. I M Antony, President KCYM Archdiocese of Verapoly, Mr. Shine Antony, General Secretary were present. 

Youth Delegates demanded the Political Equality & Justice for the Latin Community. The delegates demanded the Vallarpadam Container Transhipment Terminal shouldn't be commissioned without rehabilitating the Moolambilly people and also criticized the local-state and central authorities who neglected the poor who were evicted from Moolampilly and forced to stay on Roads for years. The delegates also pointed out the sacrifice done by the Latin Community for the development of the City and Society - Cochin Shipyard, Vallarpadom and various other Projects. Youth Delegates also discussed various points put forward by the KRLCC for the Latin Community Gathering on 27th February 2011 at Marine Drive, Ernakulam. 

The Discussion summed up with a memorandum to the Government Authorities  and Political Leadership to provide the Political Justice for the Latin Community and rehabilitate the Moolampilly eviction victims before commissioning the Vallarpadam Transhipment Terminal.

KCYM Office Bearers 2011

The 33rd Senate of Kerala Catholic Youth Movement - KCYM was held at Animation Centre, Trivandrum. The State Senate is the Apex body of the Kerala Catholic Youth Movement which will critically analyse the last one years programs of the State Committee and the Diocesan Committes and device policies and plans for the next one year. The State Senate also elects the Office Bearers for the next one year. 

The 33rd KCYM State Annual Senate was inaugurated by Ms. Lida Jacob IAS. The inaugural meeting was presided by Mr. Deepak Cherkot, President, KCYM, Very Rev. Msgr. Yugin Perera delivered benedictory message,  Mr. George Mercier MLA was the key speaker, Rev. Fr. Jaison Kollnnoor-Director KCYM, Mr. Johnson Shooranad - General Secretary KCYM, Rev. Fr. Paul Sunny, Mr. Ebi Thomas spoke in this event.

Retired Professor Alicekutty handled a motivational session for Senate Members followed by Diocesan Reporting.  26 Diocesan Committees out of 30 Diocesan Committee presented one year report in State Senate. Bishop Rt. Rev. Joseph Pandarassery addressed the Senate and shared his views and plans for the Youth Ministry. The noble idea put forward by the Director Rev. Fr. Jaison Kollanoor, - One Year Full Time Voluntarily Service and  One month Training was well accepted by the Senate. Mr. Johnson Shooranad, State General secretary presented the State Report and Mr. Titu, State Treasurer presented the income and expense sheet after the discussion on report the report was passed by the Senate. 

Ban the Endosulfain, PSC Job for Money, Change the PSC Job Unit to 50:50 are the resolutions passed by the State Senate.
